Overview

The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), has been actively contributing to the promotion of innovation-led entrepreneurship through its collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Under the aegis of the National Initiative for Developing and Harnessing Innovations (NIDHI), DST organises the Capacity Building in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Programmes (CBI&ETP) to build and strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country. The programme is specifically designed to develop the entrepreneurial capacities of Science and Technology graduates, and to enhance the skills and knowledge of faculty members and trainers associated with academic institutions and entrepreneurship development organisations.

As part of this initiative, NIESBUD has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting various structured training programmes aimed at nurturing and promoting innovation-driven enterprises.

Objective

• Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs): Aimed at sensitising and equipping faculty members and professionals from technical institutions with essential knowledge and techniques of entrepreneurship development.
• Technology-based Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (TEDPs): Designed for technically qualified individuals with a focus on launching and managing technology-based business ventures.
• Women Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (WEDPs): Targeted at women with a science and tech background, encouraging them to take up entrepreneurial ventures with confidence and competence.
